Every significant project to happen in Toledo in the past 100 years was done by volunteers with donated materials and labor that was gifted to the city, or with state and/or federal assistance. The Toledo community is rich in spirit but its city budget is lean. Volunteers make a huge difference in ongoing maintenance, and the city will need to partner with our volunteer groups, schools, fire and EMS, churches, tribes, and other groups to help us all succeed.
I'm running for mayor of Toledo, Wash. in the November 2023 election to help lead the city in our efforts to upgrade and expand the existing water/sewer infrastructure that will put the city in a better position to receive future grants and matching funds. Many places are past due for upgrades and the city can help these areas get the help they need.
We need a new city hall and police station. We should expand the city park to add more campsites. We need security cameras to watch our public areas and traffic cameras to catch speeders flying through town.
I grew up in Toledo and my first job was with the city of Toledo, the summer I turned sixteen. I graduated from Toledo High School in 1997 and from Washington State University in 2001.
I worked as a journalist in Washington, Wyoming, and New York City. Moved back to Toledo in 2010, started my web design business Morgan Online Media in 2011, and began volunteering with various local charity organizations, including the Toledo Lions Club and Vision:Toledo. My wife Emily Morgan currently serves on the Toledo city council and our child attends school in Toledo.
